Fir Tree Day Nursery

![]() |
We want your baby to be happy and content with us so we ask that you visit the nursery with your child prior to them starting, so that the staff can get to know you and the routines that you have for your child. Subsequently, to help settle your baby in and so you can be confident in leaving your child, we ask that you leave the child for an hour on their own with our staff and then again for maybe two hours. We feel this eases them and you into the routine of coming to nursery. For babies the day is not structured, but we have many activities for babies of all ages to try, such as finger painting, foam play, water play and many other tactile experiences, as well as plenty of toys to stimulate them and encourage their development. We plan the activities using the “Birth to Three Matters” guide, which has been produced by the government, and our staff have had training in how to implement this. We ask that you provide bottles of formula milk already made up and labelled with your child’s name. You may if you wish provide your own food for babies under 2, but the nursery can provide food for them whilst weaning if preferred. We also ask you to provide nappies. Your child’s key worker will keep a daily dairy in which all your child’s activities, food eaten and sleep times will be recorded. Someone from the baby room will be available at the beginning and end of each day to speak to you about your child’s day. |
